Why I Don't Pay Attention To Reviews Anymore

I don’t know about you, but I’ve gotten to a point in my life where I don't trust reviews anymore.

Whether I go to buy products, eat at restaurants, or see movies, I don’t read a single review beforehand.

When I read the one star product reviews on Amazon, most, if not all them have nothing to do with reviewing the product itself. They either talk about something extremely minor or something else that was clearly their own fault.

Restaurant reviews? There are going to be people who complain about bad food or terrible service, but it doesn’t even apply to me most of the time. Because my food standards are pretty low, any kind of food tastes good to me. Doesn’t matter if it’s McDonald’s or five star meals, I’m happy either way.

And movies? This is a case of ignorance is bliss. I know nothing about cinematography. Therefore, I don’t know the difference between a good movie or a bad movie. If I enjoy it, then I enjoy it.

The point of me telling you all this?

There are always going to be people who’ll support you and your business, and people who’ll hate you.

When someone joins your email list, you don’t know which one they’re going to be.

So how do you get rid of the people you don’t want?

Well, it’s tricky especially if they don’t interact with you, but it’s not impossible either.

You can take a more radical approach and intentionally offend the people you don’t want anything to do with. I see a few people on my Facebook feed who do that very well, and admittedly, it’s very entertaining to observe.

There’s one person, clearly loyal to the Republicans, who has no problem sharing her thoughts that tend to offend people of the Democratic party. You know it works when you see hundreds of people commenting on the post.

Which leads to the more general solution, and it’s probably the most overused, yet best advice.

Being yourself.

Yes. Nothing new about that.

But the more you show yourself, the more you’ll discover the true supporters and non-supporters.

The best way to do that?

By using the ways I teach in How to Become an Email Titan.
